Well, I finally got around to blogging about the honeymoon! And wedding! He he. For our honeymoon we went to Puerto Vallarta (PV), Mexico. It was quite the adventure! Erik's friend Chase Jones's parents have a house 2 hours south of PV Erik had helped build last summer. So we had a free place to stay for a week! Or so we thought...
We were so excited! We landed and it started to POUR! it was so crazy, we rented a car from Alamo, and long long long story short, they ended up taking a $1,000 deposit, and didn't bother to tell us about it. So automatically Visa put a hold on our card so we couldn't get any cash out the next day on our way down to the house, where NO ONE accepts cards. The Jones's have a lawyer down there in order to own land, we had to stop by his house at midnight (by the time we got there) in order to get the gate key, he then offered us to stay the night in his "humble home". Lets just say, we were truly in Mexico!
The road from the Lawyers house to the Jones's was about an hour drive and it was a dirt road, since it had been storming the day before he thought that the road would be washed out, and since it was midnight didn't think we should drive down it.
The floors were cement and there was NO toilet seat on the toilet! I was so dirty and itchy from flea bites and I hadn't showered since the night before, we ended up staying the night on an air matress in the living room of a Mexican lawyer. The next morning we left at 7:00 am and drove out to the house. It was beautiful. We had around a stretch 6 miles of beach to ourselves, it was amazing! After going to the beach, and wanting to take a nice shower, the pump was broken for the water to the house, thus... NO WATER. It was insane! so long story short, we ended up having to drive back to PV and had to pay an extra $600 for hotel and food, we hadn't planned on.
Over all the trip was great, and it was one we will never forget!

That is a crazy honeymoon, but I'm sure it was still fun, sounds like it. I love that you can blog now. Keep it up. Also you need to change the "about me" from we're getting married to we are married. He HE.
thats awesome! at least you will never forget it!
Dan and I were supposed to go to the virgin islands and last minute (the night before)we went to San Diego. so we flew in and had no reservations anywhere so we drug our luggage around the town looking for a decent hotel.
one of them charge by the hour, there were crack whores in the lobby. i was so scared, we ran out of there, we went to another one, got checked in, went to our room and there were no sheets on the bed and the mattress was so sick! stains on it and looked 50 years old, so we high tailed it out of there, finally we landed at the holiday inn!
good times, good times
Sammy, you guys really did have the Honeymoon from hell, at least it started off that way. However, it sounded like it ended on a great note and what a great story to pass on to anyone and everyone who wants to hear it! I know I certainly enjoyed it:)
Wow! That's a very memorable honeymoon! Even though you had all those troubles it sounds like you have a good time.
